Summary Table Land

Table Land

I recently watched a movie about food called “Table Land” in this movie they talked about different categories of food production like: sustainability, small scale, industrial, taste and local food.

What I enjoyed most in this movie was to see how the small producers can grow with only a small production. Personally, my uncle owns a small scale business in apple related products and I am in total agreement with the idea behind this movie. Small producers are more careful with their products, they enjoy what they do and try to survive in this market.

I agree with the part talking about taste, they said if you expose your products like fruits and vegetables to the sun while they are growing, you would have a product with so much more flavour, more nutritive and tasty.

If I had to redo this movie, I probably would remove the part on sustainability because I do not understand all they said in this part and I think I was not the only one.

I learned that is a good choice to encourage local producers when I buy my fruits and my vegetables because they work so hard to build up their business. I already knew that it is hard to have a place on the market with apple products but I did not realise that it was the same thing in the other provincial markets.

I recommend this movie to people who care about their local economy.
